Because there are certain things on TV that you no longer wish to see… daily. =D

So you’ve just updated to macOS 10.13.4 and iOS 11.4 and watchOS 4.3.1 and tvOS 11.4; then here’s something to distract you from the crazy insanity going on around us. Daily.

For those wondering how to add US, Philippine, UK, Singapore, China, Australia, or whosever calendar you wish to include in your iPhone and macOS Calendars, here’s how to go about it:

If you have a Mac, just switch to the Calendar app, select File from the Menubar then choose New Calendar Subscription:

Paste the URL of the .ics Calendar file:

And you’re done!

But for those amongst us who are cursed with an iPhone but without a Mac, you can still accomplish the same thing on your iOS device; albeit with more steps than you would ever think necessary for an Apple product, but achievable nonetheless:

Just go to this web site and pick the Calendar you wish to subscribe to:  https://www.calendarlabs.com/ical-calendar/

Let’s say you wish to subscribe to Canadian Holidays:

Click on the link to open that particular page, then Control-Click or Right-Click on the Download button and select Copy Link:

And that’s the link to the .ics file that you need to subscribe to.

Now on to the tedious part: here’s how to subscribe to calendars when all you have is an iPhone. It’s really, completely non-intuitive! Someday we’ll just have to ask Siri to do all these…

1. Go to Settings:

2. Accounts & Passwords:

3. Add Account, choose Other:

4. Select Add Subscribed Calendar:

5. Paste the raw .ics URL that you copied from the site:

6. Just use the default settings, tap on Next:

7. Repeat for all the .ics URLs you wish to subscribe to.
